The Ministry of Awqaf And Islamic Affairs announced today that 551 settlers and extremists stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the third day of the Jewish Passover holiday.

The statement added that the number of extremist settlers who stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque today, Thursday, has risen to 1,679.

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned Thursday the decision by “Israeli” police to allow the extremist settlers to storm Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif and engage in provocative religious practices that violate its sanctity.

The ministry also condemned in a statement the restrictions imposed on the entry of worshipers to the Al-Haram Al-Sharif, which constitutes a breach of the historical and legal status quo in it and a violation of the sanctity of holy places.

The ministry’s spokesperson, Sufian Al-Qudah, urged “Israel”, as the occupying power, to cease all practices and violations against the mosque and to respect its sanctity.

He warned against the continuation of these violations and stressed the need to respect the authority of the Jerusalem Waqf and the Affairs of Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif, under the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf And Islamic Affairs, as the sole authority responsible for managing the affairs of Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif and regulating access to it.

Al-Qudah also warned against the continued efforts of the Israeli occupation authorities to impose targeted measures to control the entry of worshipers into Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif, emphasizing the necessity to ensure free and unrestricted access to it, as it is a purely Muslim place of worship in its entirety, covering an area of 144 dunams.
