In a bid to foster community cohesion and extend support during the holy month of Ramadan, the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance has initiated several gift programs across the globe. These initiatives aim to provide essential resources and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood among Muslims in various countries. From Sweden to Thailand, the Kingdom’s commitment to serving Islam and its followers shines through in these thoughtful endeavors.
Sharing the Blessings of Dates
In Sweden’s capital, Stockholm, the ministry inaugurated King Salman’s “Gifts of Dates” program. This Ramadan initiative will see the distribution of two tonnes of dates to approximately 8,000 Muslims. The event, graced by the presence of Saudi Ambassador Enas bint Ahmed Al-Shahwan and other esteemed Islamic figures, emphasizes the Kingdom’s dedication to serving Islam on a global scale. Ambassador Al-Shahwan highlighted Saudi Arabia’s efforts in supervising the affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, promoting dialogue, tolerance, and coexistence.

Extending Generosity
Simultaneously, Denmark witnessed the launch of a similar gift program, with two tons of dates benefiting around 8,000 Muslims. Saudi Ambassador Sahl bin Mustafa bin Ahmed Arqsus and embassy personnel were present to kickstart the initiative. The distribution of dates to mosques and Islamic associations aligns with the ministry’s commitment to supporting Muslim communities worldwide, in accordance with the directives of Saudi leadership.
Nurturing Fellowship
In Chad’s capital, N’Djamena, the King Faisal University became the focal point for the ministry’s gift programs. The religious attache at the Saudi embassy led the distribution of dates and iftar meals, with prominent figures such as Ambassador Amer bin Ali Al-Shehri and Dr. Mohammed Khattar in attendance. With an impressive five tons of dates to be distributed, over 30,000 individuals stand to benefit from these endeavors, highlighting the significance of communal support during Ramadan.

Further afield, in Thailand and South Korea, the Saudi embassy launched gift programs for distributing dates and iftar meals. In Seoul’s Central Mosque, Deputy Ambassador Fahd Al-Barakah joined Imam Sheikh Abdulrahman Lee to kickstart the initiative, benefiting more than 12,000 individuals. These programs reflect the Kingdom’s commitment to fostering solidarity and providing essential support to Muslim communities globally, fostering a spirit of compassion and unity during Ramadan.
