The Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) has named TNG Digital, the operator of the Touch ‘n Go eWallet, as an official zakat collection agent with the aim to simplify the fulfillment of religious duties for Muslims.

As part of its expansion and to ensure broader accessibility, TNG Digital has also included Zakat Pulau Pinang and Majlis Ugama Islam Sabah in its list of zakat institutions within its e-wallet platform.

This addition aims to cater to the needs of users in Penang, Sabah, Selangor, Pahang, Wilayah Persekutuan, Negeri Sembilan, and Kedah, especially with the advent of Ramadan 2024.

From March 2024, Muslim Touch ‘n Go eWallet users, specifically those using Android devices, will be able to pay various forms of zakat, including zakat fitrah, directly through the app.

To make a zakat payment, users can follow these simple steps within the app: navigate to the ‘Bills’ section, select ‘Zakat’, choose the preferred zakat institution and zakat type, enter the amount, and confirm with their PIN.

Other zakat institutions previously integrated into the Touch ‘n Go eWallet platform include Lembaga Zakat Selangor, Pusat Kutipan Zakat Pahang, Majlis Agama Islam Negeri Sembilan, and Lembaga Zakat Negeri Kedah, making the service available since 2023.
